Knitting is not coming naturally to me. It's not coming unnaturally to me, either. And, as God as my witness, I'm gonna knit something before I die!
So tomorrow I start remedial knitting. It's actually Beginning Knitting at my favorite yarn shop, Kamille's. It's just my second time taking the beginning class and I've had many, many people before this attempt to show me how to knit. I shall spend the week between classes repeatedly casting on and knitting a few rows before ripping it all out to cast on again. Because the casting on is my first obstacle. It needs to become something I remember how to do so I can, maybe, start a new project every once in a while!
Then, after my second class where I will learn to purl with the best of them and how to finish off a project, I will do that ripping out and starting again completing with knitting AND purling and finishing off. I must commit to going to the Tuesday night knitting group for several months so I can keep this up.
I will probably make a ton of dishrags during that time frame, so if you need a knitted dishrag, drop me a line. I do love me a knitted dishrag!
you can do this!! again! don't worry, all those knitting books show you how to cast on and all that, so if you forget, just look in the book!! after you've knit a scarf or two you won't forget how,
