Well, I had something written up and it disappeared, so here we go again.
Dwaine's cousin's husband, Richard, had a brain aneurysm. The hospital in Bozeman wasn't equiped to handle this type of problem, so they arranged a life flight down here to Salt Lake City. Cousin Edye came with him on the flight and we picked her up in the middle of the night from the hospital and brought her home with us. The day after her son, Jeremy, and his wife Alisa drove down with clothing and personal effects for Edye. They stayed for a week, leaving last Tuesday.
Edye and Richard's daughter, Sadie, came down with Edye's sister, Leola, on Thursday. They stayed until Sunday. This was sad as Sadie really wanted to see her dad fully awake and he hadn't gotten to that point before it was time for her to leave. I was sad to see Leola leave as I really like her a lot.
Jeremy and Alisa left on Tuesday afternoon. That evening Bernadette, Richard's daughter from his first marriage arrived at the hospital. She made arrangements to stay in a hotel close by the hospital, so I haven't met her yet. Perhaps this weekend I can meet her.
Sunday, Josh, Richard's son from his first marriage, is expected to arrive Sunday with his wife, Kelly, and their high school aged son. They will also be picking up Sadie and Edye's car from Bozeman and bringing stuff down for Edye and Richard. I don't know how long they will stay. I am expecting them to stay here at the house in the trailer.
I am so grateful that we have had the room and the trailer and are able to be here for these guys. I am also very happy to be getting to know Dwaine's family in a whole new way. Much different than hanging out at organized family functions in a large gaggle. Hard to interact that way. This, while it has been scary and exhausting, is also a much better way to learn to love them and find out that they are really good people to hang out with.
Now my dogs, Sonic and Spooky, have enjoyed all the extra attention that this many people bring them. And Sonic has been a real trial with his need to swipe things and haul them outside and ruin some of the things. The main thing has been Edye lost her partial to the darn dog yesterday. I have heard that my dentist came through for her and built her a new one in one day today. When she gets home from the hospital I shall check out the new teeth. I was very pleased that the dentist could see her today and get all that work done so quickly.
Dwaine's phone just rang. I think Edye is ready to be picked up. Time to get my Richard update and teeth update and various other updates.
