Courage is very important. Like a muscle, it is strengthened by use.
~Ruth Gordon
I like to think of courage in the big sense. Firemen racing into a burning building. Soldiers in battle, doing what needs to be done when it needs to be done. Anyone who can get on a submarine for any length of time. (yes, I have issues)
But courage is also a million different little things. And it's the little things done courageously that make one courageous. Things like trying a new food, even if it looks a tad, um, interesting! Driving on a snowy road to get somewhere you need to be. Opening yourself up to someone in a different way.
And I've noticed the more I use the courage muscle, the easier it is to use it again. Unless I start thinking about what I'm about to do. Then I can talk myself out of almost anything.
So I need to work on my self-talk this year. Part of what PRESENCE means, for me, is not worrying about what might happen or what has already happened. Just doing whatever it is I'm doing and being totally there.
Good thoughts. I can pep talk, too, when ya need it!

I can relate completely, Kim!
Using it - that courage muscle - makes it easier to use the next time...except when I really start thinking about it - and that muscle just freezes!

Kim, what good advice. We all need to hear it. I'm struggling in a few ways right now. But we all do I know.
You need to take a binding class! Go see Nadine at Material Girls. That is the best store and they have great classes. Binding is fun!
